The most wonderfull time of the year?

You hear it from an early age: Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. But is it, really? Sure, everyone is off work. Houses and streets are beautifully decorated. You get to see family and friends you are usually too busy for.

And then it hits: cooking stress! Christmas dinner is what the holidays revolve around. If you are lucky, it is a joint effort where everyone chips in. With a bit of bad luck, you are on your own and everyone expects a meal as if you were a star chef.

So you look for a way to eat well and still enjoy the dinner yourself. The classic answer is a raclette grill. Everyone loves it, but you are left with the smell afterwards, until a week later the smell of frying oliebollen finally takes over.

Pizzarette, then? No smell and just as much fun, but who eats pizza at Christmas? I have the perfect solution: Christmas pizzas. Beautiful, traditional flavours you would expect at a Christmas dinner. Print out the photos and use them as menu cards at the table. And of course there are many more combinations possible. Do you have tips of your own? Send me your recipe or photo and I will include it in next year’s Christmas special.
